The emerging Tea Party is causing a rift in the GOP, which some feel is hurting the greater Republican Party’s chances of appealing to swing voters and winning back the Senate and the House of Representatives in November’s midterm elections.  

Former MN Governor Arne Carlson said: “Let’s say Republicans take control of the House of Representatives in Congress. All of a sudden they’re going to have to start talking about what they [stand] for.”
