1. Greenland and the Faroe Islands are both self-governing territories of Denmark.

2. Denmark’s population (5.5 million) is comparable to the states Wisconsin (5.6) and Minnesota (5.2).

3. Danishes, the delicious pastries, do NOT in fact hail from Denmark.  They actually originated in Vienna, and also may have been inspired by the Turkish baclava.

4. Denmark has been voted the “happiest place on Earth,” much to Disneyland’s dismay.

5. The literacy rate in Denmark is 100%.
