The UpTake

Quick on The UpTake is our daily radio show/webcast on AM950 and our front page.  Mike McIntee’s the host, and he and his guests chat about politics & the day’s events.  You’re always invited to call in at 952-946-6205.  Jennifer produces the show and runs the blog.

The facts:

Mike runs the radio show from his basement. He uses a crazy combination of wires and tubes and hamsters that connect his signal to the AM950 station.

The best parts happen before and after the recorded show. Mike pops in at about 4:50 and stays after the show is over to take questions and commentary from the blog, and discuss (or, rant, depending on his mood) the day’s topics.  We don’t record this portion, so anything goes.

You don’t have to be interested in the day’s radio show topic to join the blog. We have a group of people who meet daily on the blog to chat about the day’s news, whether it relates to the radio show at hand, or not. It’s a coffee klatch for the politically-minded, and a way to check in with your neighbors.

Our show runs daily at 5:05 PM CST.  You can pop out the video from the front page by clicking the play button by The UpTake channel on the right-hand side of the video. The blog’s below the video.  Stop by, if you haven’t.  Consider it your…virtual happy hour?  (You’ll have to provide your own beer. I haven’t figured out to teleport that across the wires yet.)
